Portland, Oregon [March 19, 2018] - After running a limited program in 2017, Steve Streimer, returns to racing with a full season effort in the Pirelli World Challenge TC class where he will drive for TechSport Racing, Inc. in the #23 Nissan Nismo 370z.
The season opener will be this coming weekend March 23-25th at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas where Streimer will embark on a new journey as he joins a new team, new series in a new car.
"I have known team owner Kevin Anderson for a couple years now, and when this oppurtunity presented itself it was an easy decision", says Streimer. "Kevin and the TechSport team have shown that they build championship capable cars and I am looking forward to being a part of the team."
Some 16 cars are entered in the opening TC weekend where the cars are set to do battle at the Austin 3.27-mile, 20-turn state of the art road circuit.
TC class action begins Friday with two practice rounds followed by qualifying set for Saturday (March 24) at 8:30 a.m. CDT and the Round 1 (40-minute race) at 12:10 p.m. Sunday’s Round 2 event will take place at 3:25 p.m.
All of the 2018 TC events will be live streamed on the Pirelli World Challenge website, www.world-challenge.com as well as post-produced highlight telecasts on the CBS Sports Network.
